We are so happy to present Miriam Kiefer, managing partner of the law firm Kather Augenstein and Prof. Dr. Lea Tochtermann of University of Mannheim as key speakers.

We will learn about recent developments in view of infringement measures in a globalized world and hear about the proportionality of legal consequences according to the German Trade Secret Act in comparison with the respective provisions in the German Patent Law.

  • Miriam Kiefer, LL.M., Managing Partner at Kather Augenstein, Law Firm
    (How) Can globally spread activities infringe a patent in Germany?
    An overview on recent developments of German case law regarding infringement of method claims.
    Miriam Kiefer studied law in Freiburg, Montpellier (France) and Munich. She obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the Centre for Intellectual Property Law of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. She is also a certified specialist in intellectual property law.
  • Prof. Dr. Lea Tochtermann, Junior Professor of Private Law and European Patent Law at University Mannheim, Germany
    "The (in)proportionality of the legal consequence according to § 9 GeschGehG and § 139 PatG-E - A settlement".
    Lea Tochtermann has been a Junior professor for Civil Law and European Patent Law since September 2016. She studied law in Heidelberg and Paris (Sciences Po), completed her legal clerkship in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and received a doctorate degree from the University of Mannheim.
